A 51-year-old Cherry Hill man was fatally struck while crossing Haddonfield Road on Monday night, according to police.
Investigators say Gerald S. Yashinsky was walking across the roadway near Yale Avenue around 6:41 p.m. when a vehicle traveling north hit him. First responders from the Cherry Hill Police Department, local firefighters, and EMS arrived and attempted life-saving care, but Yashinsky was later pronounced dead.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No one else was injured.
The Cherry Hill Police Department, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, and the medical examiner are continuing to review the crash.
